Uncertain Fate of Shigaraki as Deku Returns to the Real World

However, the actual spoilers have surprised fans with a different sequence of events, leaving Shigaraki’s fate uncertain as Deku returns to the real world.

Titled “Purpose,” Chapter 419 begins with All For One confronting Deku, who appears as a young armless child in the dreamscape. All For One berates Deku for taking One For All and Shigaraki away from him, revealing that it was Deku’s psychological attacks that allowed him to resurface within Shigaraki’s conscience.

Shigaraki is then shown disintegrating in a black void, with All For One claiming that Shigaraki never had a choice in his life and that he had been manipulating him from the beginning. All For One reflects on his past failures in capturing One For All, mentioning heroes Lariat (Daigoro Banjo) and Gaen (En Tayutai). The chapter also reveals En’s hero name and last name, putting to rest theories about him being Nana Shimura’s older brother.

Just as TomurAFO prepares to attack Deku, Shota Aizawa appears through a portal and apologizes for being late.
